Led Sign - Does Size Matter?

One of the questions if you are to have a led sign for your business is - what should be the size? Should it be huge so everyone gets to see it immediately? To get a good hang on this aspect, here’s something what you ought to know.

The appropriate size of your led signs takes into account several factors ─ speed limit, stop signs or lights, traffic, distance, elevation, content, and place of installation.
Content, among the other factors mentioned, is the most engaging. If you plan to get a monochrome, you need to have the most effective approach on how to tell your message to your audience. Then be mindful of the distance, traffic patterns, and the speed allowed on the area since this highly affects the audience’s viewing time. A city ordinance regarding signs can also be involved here.
Once you have the basic details, map out your matrix and pitch. A tighter pitch makes a minimum-sized character tinier. On the other hand, if you’re up to a color led display, getting the appropriate matrix and pitch might be more baffling since you need to thoroughly consider aspect ratio as well as the application.
If you intend to put a sign afar from the viewers such as to the people who are travelling in a 45 mph car, a sign with a big-sized character is the best option. Thus, it’s of larger pitch. But if your sign is installed near the traffic with a speed limit of 25mph, a small-size character and smaller pitch will still make your message readable. Remember, a larger pitch with smaller matrix produces a grainier image on the led sign.
Furthermore, the distance from where the led signs will be viewed determines the amount of resolution needed. If the signage will be perceived from afar, not much finer details will be okay. But the closer the led sign to the audience, the more detailed it should be.
